Glazerite adds new investment to help keep up with demand

Glazerite unveils seven-figure investment for 2016, including new machinery...new special products factory...more vehicles, more people and a broadside of new products...on top of the major acquisition already announced - all part of plans revealed by trade fabricator Glazerite Windows Ltd to celebrate its 15th successive year of double digit growth.

“This will be one of the most dynamic years in our history,” said Director Jason Thompson, outlining the plans. “The success of our customers in 2015 was phenomenal and we saw record sales for Glazerite but now we are going all out to top that in 2016.

“We started the year as we meant to go on with the acquisition of Trade Frame Holdings but that was only the beginning of the plans we have for the rest of the year.”

At the heart of those plans is a seven-figure investment programme that has already seen one new, highly advanced Supercut 6 cutting and machining centre installed, with a second to follow soon. Then, Glazerite will almost double its ‘specials’ capacity with a new 30,000sqft unit to keep ahead of demand for its Vertical Sliders, Residence9, and bi-fold and patio doors that has already outgrown the existing 16,000sqft specials factory in less than two years since its launch. Over £500,000 has already been invested in specialist machinery for the factory and this will now be brought forward into the new unit.

Further investments in people, machinery and the delivery fleet are expected to be announced during the year and at least four new products will be unveiled at the FIT Show in April.

The recent growth has not come without growing pains, Jason admitted. He acknowledged the patience of customers and reassured them that the new machinery is already overcoming any problems, adding: “We owe our customers a huge thank you for their continuing support and understanding.”

He continued: “These are very exciting times for Glazerite and all of our customers and we are looking forward in 2016 to consolidating our position as VEKA’s largest fabricator as well as one of the UK’s biggest independently owned window companies.

“We will be revealing much more about our new products and plans at the FIT Show but in the meantime we want all our customers to know that we are ‘FIT for the Future’.”

Glazerite recently announced the acquisition of Trade Frame Holdings, owner of Peterborough-based VEKA Halo fabricator City Beads, declaring to grow the company’s £4million sales to £6million in a proposed 18 months of investment.

Glazerite was already VEKA UK Group’s largest trade fabricator in the UK and is a long-standing Network VEKA member. It offers a fully nationwide service based on manufacturing units in Northants, Peterborough and Greater Manchester as well as its South West distribution hub in Bristol serving South Wales and The West of England.

Glazerite doubles comp door offer with contemporary debut and more
The Glazerite UK Group Ltd has almost doubled its VEKA/Halo composite door offering, including unveiling a complete range of contemporary styles for the first time, as well as boosting its colours and grain options from 8 to 40.  The move gives installers not only many thousands of extra combination choices but also access to the entire style and colour offering of the Doorco range, complete with the full range of 29 colour options from the VEKA or Halo outerframe.  Glazerite has not only created a fresh new brochure but is also unveiling an advanced new online Door Designer to make it even easier for homeowners to turn their vision into reality.  The brochure highlights the extended range with now 32 traditional design choices, plus the new range of 18 contemporary styles and the 40 premium colours and grains including the original 8, plus the additional option of any RAL colour as special order. The new offering, along with Glazerite's existing Solidor and Palladio products, gives it one of the most comprehensive door ranges of any trade fabricator, as Director Jason Thompson explained: "Two of the fastest-growing trends in the market are composite doors and colour. Many homeowners are now looking for a modern entrance to their home and our new contemporary range gives the perfect option.  With such a wide array of colours available now in uPVC windows, the homeowners want a door to complement that. At the same time, they are being more and more adventurous with choice of door styles. Now, our installer partners can stay ahead of both of those trends from the same source as their existing window and glazing choices." A step into the digital world pays off for our Shane!
We've been working with Shane Howells Ltd in excess of 15 years and during that time we've forged a strong relationship. With ambitious growth plans for 2018, Shane turned to us for advice on his marketing strategy.  At the beginning of the year, we sat down with Shane to review his business plans for expansion and talk through his objectives with our marketing support - exactly the kind of conversation we want to be having with all of our installers.  With aims to extend their showroom to almost three times its current size, and with exciting plans for growth, it was the perfect time to look at how we could best help Shane to meet his business goals. We broke the plan into two manageable phases. Short Term - Initial boost of business January is always a tricky month, so first on the agenda was a campaign to increase awareness, and boost orders. With an overall budget of £200, we ran a series of Facebook ads targeted at Shane's key geographical areas. Our goal was to increase awareness of a special offer on his warmroof, with the resulting campaign leading to a growth in followers to his Facebook page. At the same time, we carried out a digital audit to review the tools and routes available to his business, looking at what he currently used and how we could improve it in line with his goals. As part of this approach, we built Shane a fully-branded, mobile responsive website in order to give customers further confidence in his business. "So far, 2018 has been all about trying new things for us" says Shane. "When you've done things the same way for so long, it can be difficult to make that leap, especially into the unknown. With the help of Glazerite, I've now run some relatively low-cost ad campaigns on Facebook which have more than proved their worth. I've followed this up with a local radio campaign and the enquiries have flooded in. All this for just a couple of one hundred pounds in spend." He adds, "I was hesitant and unsure about using Facebook, but with Michelle guiding me through and on hand to help with any queries, it ran really smoothly and it's definitely something I'll continue with." Long Term - A drive to achieve those goals Shane Howells Ltd is very well known and respected in its local area, with the majority of work coming via recommendations. In order to cast their net wider, our digital audit helped to identify which areas to focus on and what improvements were needed to deliver a greater digital presence going forward, A major part of this will be ongoing and regular search engine optimisation, as well as continued support and planning for social media.  We focused on the importance of showrooms in a recent issue and it's an approach Shane is already using, with his showroom on hand so that customers can see for themselves what they're buying. With plans to further extend and refurbish the showroom following the purchase of additional space, Glazerite has been instrumental in the development and planning of a great new area that will really make the difference for this business and customers.  In addition, we've been working with Shane to develop videos for his website and social media sharing, as well as sales presentation tools, printed promotional materials and survey forms to help him when he's out and about talking to customers. We're looking forward to continuing to work with Shane over the coming months to help him achieve his goals.
