GLAZERITE CELEBRATES FIRST VEKA SCHEME SIGN-UPS

It started as a celebration for Glazerite Windows Ltd having its first customer accepted into VEKA’s new Approved Installer Scheme. Soon it turned into a landslide with not only another following straight after but in excess of thirty more expected to be announced very soon.

“We knew the Scheme would be a winner,” said Glazerite Director Jason Thompson, “But it even took us by surprise. And as well as those first thirty, we are expecting to see many more accepted in the near future.”
Glazerite joined the Scheme as an Approved Fabricator as soon as it was launched and has been actively backing it among its UK-wide customer base since day one. The first installer across the line was Geoff Smith & Son of Bacup, Lancashire, followed by Fairweather Windows of Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Jason added: “It is interesting to see the variety of installers the Scheme is attracting. Even at this early stage, it makes the point that the initiative has something for every business, whatever their size and style. The Scheme gives installers a two-tier choice alongside the long established Network VEKA organisation and will open up the opportunity to a much wider field of competent operators.

“The Scheme is free to join and has no geographic boundaries. All the installer has to do is live up to a number of quality standards and buy from a Scheme Approved VEKA fabricator such as Glazerite. In return, they gain not only additional credibility to put them ahead of their competitors with exclusive POS, livery and marketing material but also a supply of direct homeowner leads via the dedicated VEKA Approved Installer website.”

Geoff Smith and son Matthew’s quality building, joinery and window business has been in existence over 25 years. As well as the Approved Installer Scheme, they have also joined VEKA Assure to self-certify their installations and will use both brands together on all their vehicles, marketing and advertising from now on.

Fairweather’s Paul Grieg sees the move as a further opportunity to promote the VEKA brand and has already secured one installation on the strength of confirming that he only fits VEKA.

Glazerite is not only the UK’s biggest VEKA fabricator, its customers represent a large proportion of the Network VEKA membership, many of whom are regular award winners and have long been regarded as one of the most proactive supporters of the organisation Jason continued: “It is very exciting that VEKA has chosen to add this second quality accreditation scheme and we are sure it will complement the existing Network by spreading the VEKA quality message even further.”

Glazerite doubles comp door offer with contemporary debut and more
The Glazerite UK Group Ltd has almost doubled its VEKA/Halo composite door offering, including unveiling a complete range of contemporary styles for the first time, as well as boosting its colours and grain options from 8 to 40.  The move gives installers not only many thousands of extra combination choices but also access to the entire style and colour offering of the Doorco range, complete with the full range of 29 colour options from the VEKA or Halo outerframe.  Glazerite has not only created a fresh new brochure but is also unveiling an advanced new online Door Designer to make it even easier for homeowners to turn their vision into reality.  The brochure highlights the extended range with now 32 traditional design choices, plus the new range of 18 contemporary styles and the 40 premium colours and grains including the original 8, plus the additional option of any RAL colour as special order. The new offering, along with Glazerite's existing Solidor and Palladio products, gives it one of the most comprehensive door ranges of any trade fabricator, as Director Jason Thompson explained: "Two of the fastest-growing trends in the market are composite doors and colour. Many homeowners are now looking for a modern entrance to their home and our new contemporary range gives the perfect option.  With such a wide array of colours available now in uPVC windows, the homeowners want a door to complement that. At the same time, they are being more and more adventurous with choice of door styles. Now, our installer partners can stay ahead of both of those trends from the same source as their existing window and glazing choices." The new doors come with a substantial range of sidelights, glazing options and hardware styles and finishes, plus high-specification security locks and mechanisms as standard - and all with the Fab & Fix Ten-Year Mechanical Guarantee and surface finish warranty.

A step into the digital world pays off for our Shane!
We've been working with Shane Howells Ltd in excess of 15 years and during that time we've forged a strong relationship. With ambitious growth plans for 2018, Shane turned to us for advice on his marketing strategy.  At the beginning of the year, we sat down with Shane to review his business plans for expansion and talk through his objectives with our marketing support - exactly the kind of conversation we want to be having with all of our installers.  With aims to extend their showroom to almost three times its current size, and with exciting plans for growth, it was the perfect time to look at how we could best help Shane to meet his business goals. We broke the plan into two manageable phases. Short Term - Initial boost of business January is always a tricky month, so first on the agenda was a campaign to increase awareness, and boost orders. With an overall budget of £200, we ran a series of Facebook ads targeted at Shane's key geographical areas. Our goal was to increase awareness of a special offer on his warmroof, with the resulting campaign leading to a growth in followers to his Facebook page. At the same time, we carried out a digital audit to review the tools and routes available to his business, looking at what he currently used and how we could improve it in line with his goals. As part of this approach, we built Shane a fully-branded, mobile responsive website in order to give customers further confidence in his business. "So far, 2018 has been all about trying new things for us" says Shane. "When you've done things the same way for so long, it can be difficult to make that leap, especially into the unknown. With the help of Glazerite, I've now run some relatively low-cost ad campaigns on Facebook which have more than proved their worth. I've followed this up with a local radio campaign and the enquiries have flooded in. All this for just a couple of one hundred pounds in spend." He adds, "I was hesitant and unsure about using Facebook, but with Michelle guiding me through and on hand to help with any queries, it ran really smoothly and it's definitely something I'll continue with." Long Term - A drive to achieve those goals Shane Howells Ltd is very well known and respected in its local area, with the majority of work coming via recommendations. In order to cast their net wider, our digital audit helped to identify which areas to focus on and what improvements were needed to deliver a greater digital presence going forward, A major part of this will be ongoing and regular search engine optimisation, as well as continued support and planning for social media.  We focused on the importance of showrooms in a recent issue and it's an approach Shane is already using, with his showroom on hand so that customers can see for themselves what they're buying. With plans to further extend and refurbish the showroom following the purchase of additional space, Glazerite has been instrumental in the development and planning of a great new area that will really make the difference for this business and customers.  In addition, we've been working with Shane to develop videos for his website and social media sharing, as well as sales presentation tools, printed promotional materials and survey forms to help him when he's out and about talking to customers. We're looking forward to continuing to work with Shane over the coming months to help him achieve his goals.
