SECURITY AS STANDARD – CUSTOMERS LOVE IT, SAYS HARDMANS

Nothing is shooting up the homeowner’s list of priorities faster than security and no company has made security a more high-profile issue than MACO. So in the wake of the hardware supplier beefing up its unique MACO Secure Plus guarantee package, who better to ask about its effectiveness than the scheme’s biggest trade customer – Wirral-based Hardmans.

“Every window, door and conservatory we install uses MACO as standard,” said co-director Gary Hardman. “Our fabricator, The Glazerite UK Group Ltd, gives us a choice but our customers love MACO so we see no reason to offer any other. We show every one of them the MACO brochure and I have pictures of every component on my iPad. You can see that they are impressed and reassured as soon as they see it.”

They are so impressed, in fact, that every single one of Hardmans’ nine or ten customers a week have registered online immediately. The scheme itself, with its ten-year guarantee and compensation of up to £1,000 is an obvious draw, he added, but it is the system itself that is the real attraction.

“Everyone likes a certificate, of course,” he explained, “It gives them immediate peace of mind. But when they see what the systems are and how they work, that is what really clinches it. For example, I can point out how there are at least seven locking points on even the smallest top opener. But then, when they hear that intruders often go for the window hinge and I show them how the MACO system puts two hooklocks beside the hinges, the usual reply is ‘Yes, I’d never thought of that!’

Glazerite customers have had the choice of MACO hardware since 2003 and in 2010 the fabricator offered the newly launched MACO Secure Plus Guarantee Scheme. As a result, because of key user feedback from companies such as Hardmans the scheme has now been completely revamped to bring to the market a further improved offering with even more real end user benefits as well as updated consumer literature.

The scheme has just launched with some great new marketing support, including a new homeowner brochure and portal demonstrating the key benefits. The enhanced benefits of the scheme now include:

  • Excess cover, against building and contents insurance, should a homeowner ever need to make a claim the scheme now pays out up to £500 against buildings insurance and £500 against contents insurance.

  • Alarm response to quickly react to any problems at the property.

Glazerite’s Peter Smith said: “MACO Secure Plus is a great way for installers to differentiate themselves from the competition by offering homeowners the peace of mind that such a powerful guarantee package offers. The built-in insurance also means if intruders do break in as a result of the MACO hardware failing, the homeowners need not claim on their home insurance, so their premium is protected.

“At Glazerite, we give installers a choice but we actively recommend that they give MACO some serious thought.”

Glazerite and D&M Windows team up on office installations
Olham-based D & M Windows and Doors Ltd has recently completed two large commercial installations using windows and doors fabricated by The Glazerite UK Group Ltd. VEKA-approved installer, D & M Windows, was appointed by contractors Brown & Bancroft to work on the Siemens office building in Congleton, Cheshire, thanks to their extensive experience across the North West. The transformation of the building took three months to complete and involved the installation of 200 VEKA M70 windows, in White, over four floors. Founded in 2006, by Mark and Darren Hoolickin, D & M Windows has worked with VEKA's largest trade fabricator, Glazerite, for the last four years. Last month, the installer put the finishing touches on another office building, Burlington House, in Crosby, Liverpool, using windows fabricated by Glazerite. In their first job for Amspec Ltd, Mark, Darren and their team installed over 500 VEKA M70 windows in Anthracite Grey, with a white interior. Glazerite launches sales support suite for heritage range
The Glazerite UK Group Ltd has launched its Heritage Range brochure and an accompanying suite of marketing materials for installers looking to showcase the range to customers.  With something for every budget, the Heritage Range brings together a host of alternatives to high-maintenance timber, including flush sash and vertical slider windows. With developments in energy efficiency, security and the aesthetics, colours and finishes of windows, doors and hardware, homeowners are increasingly seeing the benefits of using virtually maintenance-free uPVC over wood.  The 24-page brochure showcases Glazerite's complete range of heritage-style systems designed to restore or add traditional character to homes, from leading brands including The Residence Collection, Halo and VEKA.  As part of its ongoing aim to support installers, Glazerite has also launched a range of accompanying sales support material which can be tailored with the installer's own branding and company details. Glazerite adds three new faces to Sales & Marketing team
The Glazerite UK Group Ltd is looking to better serve the needs of its growing installer base with a number of new appointments to its sales and marketing team. Katie Sampson joins the Wellingborough-based fabricator this month as Area Sales Manager, with responsibility for customers across the South East and the Midlands. Reporting directly into Glazerite’s Group Sales & Marketing Director, Jeff Dunn, Katie says: “I can’t wait to get started and to meet my customers. I’ve worked with Glazerite before when I was at Network VEKA (now Independent Network) and have watched them grow from afar. I really like their customer-focused ethos and I’m delighted to be joining them.” Jeff adds: “Katie’s appointment comes at an exciting time for Glazerite and our customers. She has proven industry experience, including installer support and trade counter positions with some leading industry brands. She also has a thorough knowledge of the portfolio, from VEKA/Halo products right through to doors, hardware and roofing systems, and brings with her energy, a proven work ethic and a great understanding of customer service.” Katie joins Glazerite from a Sales Manager role at Ultraframe and has previously worked in customer-focused roles with VEKA and SIG plc. As part of its sales and marketing team’s transformation, Glazerite has also recently appointed Jeff Dunn into the newly-created Group Sales and Marketing Director role, and last year recruited Lauren Edwards as Digital Marketing Coordinator. Jason Thompson, Managing Director, explains: “As part of our aim to help installers become best-in-class, we wanted to bolster the support we can give to our customers, including digital marketing support. Lauren’s expertise means we can provide tailored website content, social media management and search engine optimisation to help our installers attract new customers.” Lauren has already made an impact, with the news she has been shortlisted for ‘Social Networker’ at this year’s National Fenestration Awards. Meanwhile, Jeff Dunn is settling into his new role at the fabricator and is looking ahead to the benefits a growing team can bring for customers. “It’s a great time for Katie to be joining our team.
