GLAZERITE’S OLIVER UP FOR YOUNG PERSON OF THE YEAR
Glazerite Windows Limited are all about the development of its employees and are always keen to see them rewarded in some way, shape or form. This is precisely what’s happening to Junior Purchasing Assistant Oliver Bailey, who is in the running for Young Person of the Year at the National Fenestration Awards 2015.
As the youngest member of the Glazerite team, Oliver has a fantastic attitude, is enthusiastic, energetic, confident, keen to learn, friendly and approachable, which are all key traits for any successful business person.
In just 12 months since joining Glazerite on an apprenticeship fresh out of school ,Oliver has proven his abilities time and time again and is now managing a budget of nearly £2.5 million. With his eye for detail and eagerness to be more efficient in the business, a recent cost benefit analysis on new fork lift trucks saw Oliver present a potential saving of £10k to the management team on his own merit proving to Glazerite he has the potential to be a rising star in its ranks.
“He’s taken to the role like a duck to water,” said Glazerite’s Director Jason Thompson. “We had never employed an apprentice before so we were a little apprehensive at first and not sure what to expect. However, from the very first interview we could see the huge potential in Oliver.
“He’s very intelligent and highly likeable with a genuinely positive attitude to work and his colleagues. He’s such a great role model for youngsters and an amazing success story for present day apprenticeships. We all at Glazerite are entirely behind Oliver being recognised as Young Person of the Year at the fenestration industry awards.”
The National Fenestration Awards is the industry’s fastest growing, independent and exciting awards event. Launched in 2013 and now into its third year, the awards are run and decided completely by the participation of the industry, arguably the most rewarding way to be recognised.
