Wilson Windows isn’t worrying what to do with its old factory since getting out of fabricating – the fast-growing family business has already used the space to double the size of its showroom twice over in just two years and, says Dale Wilson: “We need even more space already!”
The Loughborough installer has seen sales and profits grow steadily since it started buying in Veka frames from Glazerite, but the ever-growing range of popular products in the Glazerite portfolio has meant more and more opportunities to show them off at their best, as Dale explained:
“There are so many great-looking products from Glazerite and they have been really supportive in providing all the display pieces we needed. So at first, we took a corner of the factory and doubled our 500sq ft showroom to show them off at their best. But we soon outgrew even that so now we have taken most of what’s left of the factory and doubled the showroom again. And now, to be honest, we could already use even more space.”
A stroll round the newly expanded showroom shows how the Wilsons have really made the most of Glazerite’s offering, with eye-catching features including the Halo Rustique casement window with its VS-style run-through horns, the Halo Flush sash – displayed alongside its premium counterpart, the R9 Heritage window; the Solidor composite door range and the Veka Imagine bi-folds, along with the new range of vertical blinds available through Glazerite.
Wilson Windows, had been manufacturing its own frames since it was founded by Dale’s father Mick in 1989. Now, it is one of a string of growing installers that have shut the factory and gone over to Glazerite and like the others, the Wilsons have never looked back.
The company isn’t just making good use of Glazerite’s customer support and the Veka products; it joined the Veka Approved Installer Scheme as soon as making the change, then stepped up to join the elite Network Veka and was very soon rewarded with the Best Newcomer trophy in the organisation’s annual awards.
The Glazerite UK Group Ltd Director Jason Thompson said: “We have supported many customers in shutting their factories – and would encourage many other fabricator/installers to think about doing the same – so it’s especially rewarding to see a company not only benefitting from the decision but making very good use of the redundant factory space in the bargain.”
