Future Homes Standard Changes

The long awaited consultation for the Future Homes Standard has just been released. We thought we’d sum up the main changes, and make clear what is staying the same.

Notional values remain unchanged

• Windows will remain at 1.2 and 1.0 for Doors

Limiting values

• Actual building is 1.6 for both windows and doors
• New area-weighted limiting values have been introduced, deviating from current regulations

Calculation method changes

• Windows must be calculated using the exact size and configuration
• Doors must also use exact size and configuration; standard sizes not allowed (EN13351)
