Solidor and more... stylish, safe and secure

With the latest crime figures revealing a nine per cent increase in burglaries across England and Wales*, a secure front door remains a top priority for many. Combine that need with more consumers wanting contemporary styles and colours, and you'd be forgiven for thinking pleasing today's homeowner is an impossible task.

As one of the leading composite doors on the market - Solidor ticks all these boxes, and more. Not only are their 48mm-thick doors energy efficient and durable, they’re available in 20 different colours and finishes, some of which are unique to Solidor. Coupled with matching side panels if required, and the option of French or stable-style for back doors, even the most style-conscious homeowner can find their dream door.

Always one step ahead of the curve when it comes to customer and market demands, Solidor has recently unveiled some new additions to their range; two traditional door styles - The Sterling and The Trieste – and, following customer feedback, three exciting new colours.

Colour options are endless

With the addition of the Halo/VEKA variations foil, we can boost the 11,000 Solidor colour permutations to over 450,000. The variations range also gives customers the perfect colour match for 16 of the 23 slab colours available, with a frame. Complementing the Solidor aesthetics perfectly, our range of Fab & Fix door furniture (highlighted in this issue) also comes covered by a 10 year mechanical and surface finish warranty.

Security is high on the agenda

Elegant craftsmanship meets high-security Solidor doors combine elegant craftsmanship with the very latest in security features. Made to Secured by Design PAS 24/SBD standards and having undergone rigorous testing, they’re also fitted with Ultion, the most secure locking system on the market today.

Nick Dutton, CEO of Brisant Secure which designed, engineered and manufactured Ultion explains how the cylinder works. “Rigorously tested, Ultion is unrivalled as a door cylinder operating even when the key is in the lock. In the event of an attempted break-in, Ultion goes in to “Lock Down Mode” securing the door and the home.’

It’s also approved by the Police through Secured by Design, approved by locksmiths through the Sold Secure Diamond accreditation and is also approved by British Standards (BSI). Homeowners can be further reassured by the unique £1,000 security guarantee, which gives them that extra peace of mind.”

Support for installers

Gareth Busson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Solidor says the company works hard to support and benefit installers through its membership scheme. He explains: “Solidor’s Network Development Programme helps installers in several ways. We’ve recently upgraded the installer-search feature on our website so that the end customer can choose the right door supplier for them. Postcode-driven, it shows the standards and certification an installer operates to, such as FENSA or CERTAS, as well as their product range. We also highlight the sales environment our installers offer to their customers, with our ‘Showroom of the Month’ incentive.”

To further support installers when they’re in front of customers, Solidor has an unbeatable range of marketing brochures, swatches and videos designed to help the end customer choose the best door for them, as well as an easy-to-use online door designer. All of these marketing tools are available through Glazerite.

Jason Thompson, of Glazerite, believes Solidor’s range offers the perfect balance of style and security. “Customers are becoming increasingly adventurous with their choice of doors so to meet that demand, we want to give our installers the best possible choice of impactful and secure entrances. The products we offer are all based on giving exceptional choice for homeowners, as well as peace of mind. The combined force of Solidor, Ultion and Fab & Fix achieves this perfectly.”
