GROSVENOR INSTALLS FIRST R9 AND NOW THE LIST GROWS

Glazerite customer Bolton-based Grosvenor Windows has successfully completed its first Residence 9 installation, with a healthy quote bank building in its wake.

Grosvenor supplied two sets of French Doors, a Bow window and four sash windows to the private residence after the owners visited Grosvenor’s Bolton showroom. The couple had already researched the market and decided upon the Residence 9 system, which is designed to replicate the ubiquitous 19th century flush sash timber window that features in so many British homes. Keen to reduce the maintenance on their windows and doors the couple decided to replace their timber frames when they became aware that a PVC-U window was available that closely replicated the style of the originals in their home.

The couple had already obtained a quote from a major national retailer but decided to get at least one more and, following their visit to Grosvenor’s showroom found that not only was the quote more competitive a two year interest-free finance option also served to offset the additional cost of Residence 9 over conventional systems. What closed the deal for the couple was the manufactured quality of the product.

Grosvenor’s Richard Martin handled the sale to the couple: “They had researched the market well and were determined to install Residence 9. They chose Grosvenor to provide the windows and doors when they became confident that we could do the job at least as well as the national retailer they had already received a quote from. Our price, service and the quality of the products manufactured by hand in Glazerite’s specialist range production facility in Wellingborough sealed the deal.”

Glazerite, one of the UK’s largest trade fabricators, began manufacturing windows and doors using the Residence 9 system last year. The product has become something of a sensation due to the attention to detail paid with the offer of authentic period design and features, coupled with the latest weather and security performance standards.

Pete Smith, head of Glazerite’s Bolton operation, says Residence 9 has further extended the company’s vast range of products, styles and options: “Our policy is to provide our customers with the largest possible arsenal of products to ensure they can go after all sales opportunities and handle every demand from customers. Residence 9 is quickly capturing a very specific customer base and is an increasingly important addition.”

Glazerite strengthens senior management team
The Glazerite UK Group Ltd has strengthened its senior management team with three new appointments and an internal promotion. The operations and technical-focused positions will allow the fabricator to further improve service levels across its three largest sites. Mark Towers joined Glazerite on 7th January 2019 as Bolton-based North West Division General Manager/ Director Designate. With over 25 years’ industry experience, Mark has worked to improve the output of a number of manufacturing operations, ranging from composite doors to glazing, and has also held senior positions at ODL Europe Limited, HansenGlass Processing, and HM Doors. Mark says: “It’s an exciting time to join Glazerite. I’m very much looking forward to working with the team at the Bolton site going forward, with an initial focus to continue improving standards at the site and carry out the investment and extension programme planned for this year.” Taking up the position of Group Operations Manager is Andrew Worroll, who will report directly into Group Operations Director, Ian Lloyd. He has over 20 years’ experience in operations, production and supply chain, and will focus mainly on Glazerite’s Wellingborough sites, in order to free up more of Ian’s time to focus on the Group Operations strategy. In December 2018, Glazerite also welcomed Mitchell Gooch, who took on the role of Group Technical and Processing Support Manager at the fabricator’s Peterborough site. Mitchell, who has previously worked in technical roles at SGM Windows Manufacturing Ltd, won the prestigious Apprentice of the Year G12 award while at Pioneer Trading Company Ltd. Chris will focus on further improving the product development programme and procurement process across the group going forward. Jason Thompson, Glazerite Director, says: “2018 was a challenging year for us and the industry as a whole. Despite this, we’ve increased our products and services portfolio, and strengthened our sales and marketing team with specialist expertise in areas like digital marketing. We have been stretched in some areas, which highlighted the need to further strengthen our senior management team. Now, with Mark, Andrew and Mitchell in place, we’re in the best possible position to go forward and achieve our plans for growth in 2019 and beyond. Combined with recent and planned future investment, we’re well-placed to serve our growing installer base and help them to become best-in-class.” (Above image from left to right, Andrew Worroll, Mitchell Gooch, Mark Towers)

Glazerite sister company claims a G-award
The Glazerite UK Group Ltd has applauded fellow fabricators, AluFoldDirect, for their win at this year’s G18 Awards. The aluminium bi-folding doors and windows manufacturer won the Fabricator of the Year award, while Glazerite and fellow Wellingborough-based fabricator, Emplas, were runners up at the event, which took place on Friday 30th November at the Hilton Park Lane, London. Glazerite Managing Director, Jason Thompson, says “Winning the award ourselves in 2017 has been a great morale boost for our employees, and for our profile in the industry.  Although there was no award for us this year, we were thrilled for our sister company, Double R, who claimed the award in the Glass Company category and for our installer, The Window Company (Contracts), who succeeded as Installer of the Year.   “We had a fantastic night and would like to say thank you to the organisers. It’s always a great atmosphere and a good opportunity to catch up with old and new faces from across the industry.” Glazerite cemented their 2017 win with some further extensions to their already comprehensive portfolio, including new styles and colours across their composite doors and the addition of Residence 7 as a third option to their Flush Sash range. The next 12 months will see a major investment plan for Glazerite across its sites, including plant, machinery and factory expansion, in order to further support the growth of its ambitious business plans.
